Wow

I think it’s always natural to both loathe and love your work in progress. This morning I got to chapter 21 with around 21,000 words in the novel. The road that I’ve been traveling down suddenly took a violent and sudden right hand turn. Oh, I knew it was coming–I have this novel meticulously planned out. But still–the ride was exhilarating–the story has suddenly gone in new directions. It’s taken 20,000 words to show this character’s ordinary world and pique our interest.

The twists and the turns to come. I can’t wait.
I hope I pull this off as well as I hope to.
Right now I’m loving it. Give me another few days and I’ll be loathing it, thinking it’s trite and trash.
I wish I could detail why I love the scene I just wrote this morning. It’s so cool.
Don’t buy the hype that it’s fun “having written.” It’s fun to write.
I just took a roller coaster ride on the Twilight Zone to my past and encountered an awesomely crazy scene.
Back to the novel now–more words to write . . . .
