Even the most epic, awe-inspiring journeys need to have a start.
So just start.
If you know this adventure and tale you’re about to tell is going to rival the Lord of the Rings in sheer scope and size, you might put off starting it. You might need to figure out the most perfect, amazing opening to fit your perfect, amazing story.
And this might take a perfectly amazing amount of time.
So much so that you’ll figure out that perfect, amazing opening on your deathbed.
Every journey needs to have a starting point. The great thing about writing is that you can go back and change, revise, delete, tweak. But you can’t do any of those if you never simply start.
